Children’s Book Character Illustration by Susie Ghahremani / boygirlparty.com
Hilariously written by the brilliant author Marcus Ewert, published by Bloomsbury Children’s Books, SHE WANTED TO BE HAUNTED is a picture book that brings houses to life! Making inanimate objects have personalities was a wonderful illustration challenge.
I developed a variety of characters for this book, and illustrated it in a vibrant palette with a color story that transitions through the book’s storytelling.
All illustrations were hand painted on black boards, as a cue to the darkness within the central character, Clarissa.
